April NFGFC

Post by Sea Spot »

Bobby and I arrived at the ramp first, right on time.As soon as we got set up it was 6:50 so we hammered down, headed for our first hole.Rounded the last turn in the river and missed the gap, running us onto the bar :smt011 .I jump up to put the trolling motor down and nothing. We find a cable that has broken so Bobby goes to work as i try to pole us out.At 8:20 we fix the motor and get off the bar.We hit hole number one around 8:45 with no luck.We set a drift towards our second hole and bam 21 inch trout,20 inch ,18inch,18inch,16inch,and a 15.5 incher. We leave them bighting to go get our kicker trout and red but the cranking batteries are dead so we swap one of the trolling batteries out and fire up and head in.An hour later the trolling motor goes dead so we were't able to fish the shallows .We hit an off shore bar and picked up two flounder, which got us $50.00.Despite our troubles we weiged in 9.90 pounds and finished fourth just out of the money and had a blast.Congrats to Robby,Warren,Hunter on first place and all the others who took home the money.

Man, what a day. You must have left your lucky rabbit foot at home. Glad you made it back and did well.

That bar gets tricky

Glad you found fish. We messed with the bar and never got into anything but shorts.

Left out the best part.Forgot to ask Bobby if he was ready as we cleared the no wake zone.I hammered down just as he leaned back to put the truck keys in his pocket. Caught him by his ankle just in time. :o .
