st. marks 4-9-09

Post by lordsfisher »

I went solo into the "Grande Cappaccino" from the St. Marks Lighthouse . It was pretty nice this morning with a light chop. Caught a keeper trout right away with a gold bang-o-lure. Then at 1 pm the wind kicked up to maybe 20 mph. I caught only one short trout after that. The water clarity was less than 1' out to 2 miles. With the wind, there was lots of foam. I fished the from the channel east to the rocks. I couldn't find anything in the creeks. Then went up the East river and couldn't find anything there either. It was a great day away from work and nothing broke. The wind kept the gnats away at the ramp, but I should've gone to fly a kite instead.
