Keaton 4/9/09

Post by DixieReb »

Wife and I made our first trip this year , went to Keaton. After fixing a flat tire on the road to Keaton(made it almost all the way there) we made our way out and on the water by 12 noon. Lost a nice trout in 5.5 ft. on gulp, no other takers so went further out. Found a few fish in 6-7ft. Some of every kind of fish in the sea there, caught lots of bait fish and set them under corks. Most fish caught under the corks, ended up with 3 keepers to 17'' and 2 blues.Water a little stained but not too bad. Caught a lot of shorts, some to 14.75''. Also caught a small shark(surprised to see him there this early)and a big hardhead. Lots of action for a first trip. Went over berween Adams and Dekle beaches about 2:30 pm and the trout bite just stopped. Wind got up about 3:30 and decided to go, still had a long ride home on a spare tire and didn't know how well the other 6 year old tire on the trailer would do. But made it home alright, now got to go to the tire store when it opens. Yall have a good one. :smt004

You did much better than me. Having a flat is a bummer though.
