Joining the skunk brigade...

Post by rev »

Gorgeous day on the water this afternoon, but if the fish were around, I sure didn't find them. Water temp up the East River was 64; water temp in Stoney Bayou warmed up to 69 around 3:00. Even with that warm temp, nothing was happening. Coolest thing I saw was 2 F-16s mock dogfighting along the shoreline and out over the gulf--made me want to rent Top Gun.

No, I took out my skiff today. Why? Stoney Bayou isn't that bad a paddle from the lighthouse, if that's what you were wondering.

Had my brother-in-law with me. Caught 1 short trout and had a few more bites. I missed a fair sized trout on ther first cast of the day. I knew right then the day would suck. Went to start the motor and all the electrical went dead. I figured out what it was, but bro-in-law wasn't comfortable with the situation, so we came in.

I was happy to see the surface temp between 64 and 66. It won't be long till they turn on.
What was I supposed to do today?
