It is infested with politics to the point were there are 7 political posts for every 10 boat posts.. I go there click view new posts and have to read through this crap.. I'm a republican but they constantly have racist comments and things that don't belong to a boating forum and I sometimes feel uncomfortable for reading it at work.. on the other hand I belong to another boating forum and politics are not allowed(at all) It is kind of annoying if a conversation goes that way but I find that forum much more enjoyable.. I personally hate politics and try to avoid it most of the time.. I don't like the way things are going but I doubt pissing and moaning about it on a fishing forum will sway anything one way or the other.. I enjoyed the pictures and think they are great...

I think this forum is labeled "OFF TOPIC". If you do not wanna wade through it, just don't look at it. The BBF forum is categorized so you can avoid just that. I do not freshwater fish, so I never read the posts there.

On the other hand, if someone posts religion, politics or other stuff in "salt water reports" for example., warn him once, ban him next.

I see nothing wrong with political posts, as long as you do it in off topic, and do not single out anyone to try to trash. Heck, even Tennessee is entitled to his opinion here. :smt005

And fishermen have a big interest in politics as they are losing more and more rights to do it every year.

To quote Ronaldo Magnus (Reagan), "Americans have forgotten how to laugh at themselves." In the end, that's what we all are...AMERICANS. These should be topics of discussion, not division. I agree that political posts can "pollute" a great forum such as this one if left unchecked. However, if they are done in a manner consistent with the guidelines of the site, I say fire away. If someone does not want to read it, don't. What's the point of having an OFF TOPIC if you can't talk about non-fishing topics????? If political talk pisses you off or offends you too easily, check yourself at the door. Same goes for religion, gun control, bag limit changes and Jumptrout's sex life  All I got to say is..............

I think we may also need to be aware that I do not see Democrats and Republicans here. ( Heck, I am ashamed of BOTH parties)

I see common folks that have a government that is scaring the hell out of them, and are becoming active in voicing their displeasure with it.

I also agree that we need to laugh at ourselves some here. I think some comments may be taken too seriously. I would not pick on anyone I did not like.....

As for our moderators, they are doing a good job keeping us on an even KEEL, and are making us walk a CHALK line..... :smt005
