Flats = Trout

lots of trout on the flats today. 1 keeper for every 15 caught, kept a limit w/ the biggest 20". I actually used almost 100 shrimp between two people. Hope you got out, it looked like lots of people caugt trout today.

Caught them just drifting east of the lighthouse, well before the rock garden. 5ft - 3ft is the depth I stayed in, clear water, felt cold to me. Shrimp under equalizers, also pink and white grubs. Caught a couple in the river mouth around the bars also, but action was much better in the grass flats.

Dang, I may have ta try and fish over towards Saint Marks if they don't start showing up better around Piney Island soon :-D

Wevans, yeah, knowing you haunt the western range of this forum like I do it's getting old reading about the Econfini Aucilla St Marks success. I may be heading east too.
By the way, a Dog Island Shoal report:
Sunday, clear water, lots of it, some grass growing on the bottom.
