Sure was a lot of boats on St. Marks' east flats today. I thought it was finally going to be one of those days I've been waiting for, but it turned out to be one of those days I've been having the past few weeks . . . fast start, slow finish.
Water still stained brown, but warm at 74 degrees. Rising tide between 'bout 09:30 and 2:30. Trout stabbed Sebile Koolie on the first cast . . then no more. Trout took Gulp shrimp for a while . . . then no more.
A couple of Blues, but no Spanish.
One of those (not stellar) days, but enjoyable all the same.

To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

I heard the trout bite turned on about 5:00, falling tide, light chop.

Your day sounded a lot like mine Thursday at Icky. Dark water everywhere, few trout. Only kept 2 out of 6 total. I think the fish are on a schedule of biting early and late now, not much going on in the middle of the day. Glad ya got out.

What was I supposed to do today?
