Costly dirty trick....

Post by RHTFISH »

Only 328K....chump change in Washington these days! That's the reported tag for flying one of the presidential jets with a couple of F-16s over NYC, ground zero and our Statue of Liberty to obtain
"souvenir" photos. I guess in the overall scheme of things these days that's a pretty cheap way to scare the SHIATZ out of people, confuse protective agencies, evac buildings, etc.
Somehow, "we're sorry" and "there will be an investigation" rings hollow!

I'd be willing to bet that this amount only represents the fuel and not full cost. When I saw that on the news, even I couldn't believe that they were that stupid and that insensitive to the folks of New York City.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

I agree, this was a very stupied move. Why couldnt they just use photo shop to do this? Would have saved all that money and wouldnt have had to buzz ground zero... I thought our president said we all had to tighten our belts during this tuff time? I guess thats only for us little folks.. :smt011 Let me guess.. this was Bush's fault too right?

The belt-tightening idea was intended for the 600,000 folks that are losing their job each day.

You can't tell me someone didn't know AF1 and some F-16's were taking off and flying around there. They had to file a flight plan no matter who they are. The pilots have to fly anyway so it's not really a waste of fuel. Plus, they should be used to F-15's/F-16's flying routine missions.

Is this the same US government that raked the Auto COE's over the coals for flying their jets to Washington to meet with congress?

Oh, wait, those CEO's only owed Billions. The US will owe Trillions soon. I guess that makes it ok.
