TAKF (Update)

Post by Sir reel »

Good morning folks.

I received the specific instructions from Don England last evening for the TAKF event and am forwarding them. Please take note of Don's request for information regarding your crews and contact informatlion and forward it to him. Thanks

Captains, crews, and friends of Baptist Children's Home
TAKF is coming up quickly on Saturday, May 16. Captains, please email me the following information:

- List of your crew, including the ages of any children on board and whether they are boys or girls
- Cell phone number - Your cell phone number is very important so that I can inform you of any last minute changes.

Some of you may have already provided that information, but as I'm working on the database to assign children to your boat, I'd like you to confirm it again.

Boat launch is at San Marco Fort and Shields Marina. Both have waived the launch fee. I need you to send me an email and I will return the email to you with a launch fee waiver to be displayed on your dash.

The children will be at the pavillion by 7:30. Please have your boat and crew available at the pavillion at that time. Most of the youngsters will have their own PFD. Any special needs will be communicated to the Captains ahead of time for the event. I will provide you with an information packet when you check in at the pavillion. The packet will include a name tag with your name and your guest angler's name.

We will return to the pavillion at 12:30 for the cookout and fish tales.

I will be contacting some of you specifically to discuss a couple of unique needs. In addition, let me remind you that there should be:
NO alcohol as part of this event.
NO swiming
NO pictures taken and posted to the internet ( some of the youngsters are in a guarded state with respect to their location.)
NO inappropriate attire
Each Captain should have appropriate rod and reel available for their youngsters.

Captains, thank you so much for providing your boat and time. As always, call/email me with any questions.

Don received word last evening that 3 more (boys) had just been received into the foster program and will be added to the young angler population. This may result in some of our Captains being ask to carry more than one youth.

In addition, Don indicated that he had only received the requested email with contact information (see above post) from aprox half of the Captains. If you have not already forwarded the information, please do so as soon as possible so Don has time to put together all the data. Thanks.
