Carrabelle-Dog Island

Post by Algaegator »

Greetings,
I heard that the waters around Dog Island have been productive. I've never fished that area before and am seeking advice. I plan to put in at Carrabelle. I'd like to catch some fish, any kind of fish, but my preference is trout and spanish. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try putting in at Lanark. Guy at the store can tell you where to fish. Dog Island, Dog Island reef (sand grass), and Turkey Point bar are easily accessable from there.

Unless the winds really blowing, put in at the new city ramp on marine street and head for Turkey point shoals and or Dog Island reef. If it's blowing hard put in at Lanark and fish behind Lanark reef. :D

I'll be a SGi weeek after next. Which end of the island is Turkey point / Dog Island Reef? Is it a decent ramp at the city ramp?

Turkey Point is off Alligator Point and you can get to it from Leonards Landing off HWY 98. Dos Island is off Carrabelle and you can put in there at several places.
