Charter Captain Tip

Post by Wheresthefish »

Hi, I usually use my own boat but am going to Hilton Head and am using a guide. I am curious, what would a tip be for a $550 day trip in the bay?

Thanks,

I assume it is $75-$100 but I was not sure

here's my q's to consider:
how many are you trying to catch and what are you going for?
what's the legal bag limit?
did you catch anything?

Who you using?

You boyz are generous inshore trip 8 hours 550.00 bucks. If he runs his own show and sets the price that's what I would pay him.

I used to fish with an inshore guide before I got my boat he charged a fair rate to take you fishing, it pissed him off when I asked how much he'd charge if I wanted to catcth fish too.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

Thanks,

I am using Bay Street Outfitters, Captain Tuck Scott.

I have paid for multiple charter services up and down the cost while on vacations and have never, I mean never caught Reds.... I hope this will be different.

I do much better myself out of St. Marks. I hate dragging my boat on vacation, finding a place to put it and then striking out on my own trying to learn the spots. I spend more time boating than fishing. Hopefully this time will pay off.

You should do well. Around Beufort and Broad river you should find some fat reds. Good Luck!!

$100 would be fine as long as you catch fish. I know where some reds are if you're interested. :-D
