Anyone try to use a short J-hook direct to the grub, under CT, no jig head. Or will the current stop it from slowly sinking.

D.O.A. is good to use under thunder because it sinks slowly. The best part is it comes with its' own hook.

Maybe you should try a catch 2000 under a cajun thunder.

Just wanted to thank everyone who gave advice. It helped a lot. First time I've gone out to fish for trout and reds and felt like I had the right tackle and riggings. ;-) I would have posted over the weekend, but my aol browser 9.0 will let me log on the site, but not post. I've tried everything to do so, just aint happening. Using it as an additional excuse to get a whole new system, with high speed connection. Have to go for now, will post report later today, had some interesting things happen to me while I was out there 03/12.

You don't have to use the AOL browser if you have AOL. You can connect using it then switch over to IE or Mozilla and use it as your browser.
