WAM Hole Mess Up Number II

Post by What a mess »

Back to the Warrior no hurry because of the tide. Rain on land nice on the water.

The water was moving as were the fish. The Trout are not just spotted but spotty too.

While we never really got on them very good, but managed to catch a few here and there.

We counted 19 different species total. While it never got real good fish were caught fun was had.

We came in for the reds and they were the highlight of the day. Threw the net and got huge Menhaden.

Didn't do a lot with them got a couple of Sharks off them. The radio was squaking and asked if I was coming in.

Tide got away from us and we were stuck. My first time ever kinda sucked we were tired and they wern't chewing.

Fished in the moonlight and waited till the water showed up I had wanted to come in but got that last spot request.

All in all it was okay but not great 4 Reds 3 Flounder and a handfull of Trout. It was a tough day we got a little wet not bad.

I drove home after midnight in some of the worst fog I have ever driven in. I got a mess of fish to clean and a nasty boat to wash.

Sometimes you are the hammer, sometimes yo are the nail. Except for the long hours, not too bad a catch. :-)

We didn't get hammered dry boat we didn' nail em either.

Also kept some Black Sea Bass as well. I will be even a little more cautious about the tide in the future.

That sounds like fun, all but getting stuck out there. My last trip we got in kinda late and I cleaned the fish the next morning. I can't wait to get back out there.

Sounds like a memorable trip for sure! How was grass down that way? I got caught up in a lot out of Anky and several times alarm went off on motor and I had to stop and clean prop and
let engine cool down. Trout were SCARCE!
It may be that my sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
