By about 11 I had only manged to catch two trout @ 16 and 17. I must have thrown 6-8 different TW lures over good looking bottom in depths from 1-6' of water and was struggling. Nobody else was participating at all, and our signer was looking sad. shortly after 11 while drifting over some patchy bottom in 2' water Katie gets a hit on her cork that starts pulling drag then head shaking; our kicker. She brings in a beautiful 26" 4.75# trout. The big girl looks like my two schoolies would make a nice snack for her. Thanks to Custom Detailing (Tom Wheeler) for sponsoring the 2nd place trout.

Shortly after the big trout excitement I add a 4th trout and we're feeling a little better. However, I was somewhat discouraged that I had only managed 3 lower slot throughout the day, and each one ate a different tw lure.
We fished the rest of the day covering about 4 miles of shoreline in depths between 2-8' but were unable to catch our 5th fish. By this point we were throwing jerk baits, corks, jigs and everything else we thought may finish up our limit. Couldn't buy one more baby trout.
The boat ran great, and I'm gaining confidence in the new jack plate (seems like that could be dangerous). May need to do some prop work as she still blows out before being all the way up. Saw team Off the Chain a couple time; ya'll are crazy to be running where you do, but I suppose you already know that.
Had a great day on the water and some tastey fish tacos last night. Looks like we some have conflicts during the next two tourneys, but we'll see everybody in Carbelle if we don't run into first at a meeting or on the water.
