My Fishing Partner Just Left Me Here * Update

Post by RodBow »

You know that sinking feeling when after you back the boat down the ramp, the boat comes off the trailer and you realize that the bow rope came unattached... your boat just keeps on going leaving you standing there...?

My 1st ever fishing partner left me standing here this morning at 0300. My Dad slipped away -his old worn and weathered tired hull left behind. The family was fortunate enough to be standing dockside as he left here and made the final leg of the trip up the river.

Sorry for your loss RodBow. It is always hard losing a partner, though I'm sure you have many memories to live with for many years to come. Being with him as he departed is a very special moment that many don't have the opportunity to share. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. :smt059 :smt059

So sorry for your tremendous loss! I was beside my Dad when he left me many years ago (28) and I remember it like it was yesterday! :smt059

David, although I'm sorry for the loss that I'm sure you and the family are experiencing, I'm glad you were able to be there at the end. I lost my Dad 2 months ago this week (95). I was on the road to get there when I received the news. Even though I would have liked to have been there, I was able to spend a lot of time with him the 2 weeks before his passing.
