caught a few spanish today at st. marks, but they were all small.

Will:

I have caught spanish at St. Marks even in February, always in the same place - in the drop off south of the big sand bar running east from the bird rack. They are gorging on small minnows, and casting or trolling where you see them jumping will load the boat. Water depth is 8-12' deep.

But....as you found, they are REAL small, only suited for bait, really. In a few weeks there will be 3 pounders on Dog Island Reef, but not yet.

Caught a 20 incher in eye sight of Bottoms landing today :thumbup:

Did I mention there were some pinfish on the flats also....caught a couple in the castnet in the boat canal at the lighthouse.
