June 13 Keaton Beach

Post by Flint River Pirate »

We went to Keaton Beach yesterday. Despite the HOT temps we didn't get there until 8:30am. Talked to Hit-N-Miss as soon as we got there, he was going south and we were going north. I had a couple of buddies who started fishing at 6am towards Big Grass and they were having no luck, that is why we went towards Spring Warrior. We had a good day and caught a bunch of fish, only 3 keepers though. All of the keepers were caught on pinfish. We caught a bunch of short rock bass and trout. The Lady Fish were also out in full force. I also caught this weird fish............what is it???

All in all a real good day with my father-in-law. We were hoping to catch bigger fish driving all the way to Florida, I drove ten miles from my house to catch all these fat bass one night last week in a lake on a plantation here in Sylvester.  Pond fishing will spoil you. These fish were hungry!

Thats a sea robin. In the past, a sea robin has been worth a lot of $$$$$ in the NFGFC tourneys.

Thanks BD, that is what I guessed but I wasn't sure. Maybe Jay will hook me up with a Badcock gift certificate or something?

:-D It was good talking to you. I got to go monday and buy some Opti oil. At least you got some trout. The biggest we caught was all of 10 inches. :o One day I might run into a member at the ramp. As far as I know I have the only pale yellow Kenner around, if you see it holler at me.
