Swordfish In A Yak???
I caught the tail end of fishing show on WFN last night. These guys were catching swordfish and dolphine out of Kayak.. Is this normal???

I come from a small drinking community with a fishing problem
Re: Swordfish In A Yak???
Its just a little extreme kayak fishing. Most cases they are mother shipped out to the fish, but there are some guys paddling out to catch them too.

West Palm was nothing seeing yacks out in the lineup chasing kings and sails. Crazy but done.

A fellow caught a 56 lb Sailfish out of his Yak in Pensacola a week or so ago.

I think it sounds pretty extreme to custom build your kayak to fit you, out of driftwood for the frame, with seal skin stretched over it. Then use it to hunt whales and walrus with a homemade harpoon in water that will freeze your nu... uh, nose off if you get wet.
Compared to that, everything else sounds pretty tame to me.

How bout this?, Friday evening I caught a very lively sailcat while fishing from my kayak. Just as I pulled the hook out at the side of the boat, he flipped up into the kayak with me and started thrashing around like he was on crack or something. I managed to not get stuck once, but it was anything but "tame".Charles wrote:I think it sounds pretty extreme to custom build your kayak to fit you, out of driftwood for the frame, with seal skin stretched over it.
