BBSWC report "no boat no worries"

Post by TheBeerGuy »

Galantnole and myself decided to hit the BBSWC as our first tournament experience and were quickly disappointed by boat troubles yet again from our not so trusty "poontooner". Well 65 bucks later we decide to shore it up and make the best of the weekend. Friday was filled with mostly sharks and jokes being cracked on ourselves as we watched the other participants launch their boats while we fish the shore... Saturday however we started early with a belly full of delicious hardees breakfast (our good luck charm) and hit panacea with some top waters wading for what seemed like miles. Finally FISH! We did finally get on some trout early morning, then when the sun began to beat down we changed it up to a spoon and some jigs producing some more trout, a nice 30" cobia, and some really decent spanish. So over all no boat, no names on the leader board, but fish in the cooler... not all bad. Great first tournament experience even if it was from the shore.

I like your style! Good job stick'n with it! :D  Only thing better would have been ta read that you weighted in a fish and won the boat :-D

Ha, I agree with you with there. I weighed the spanish but only 3.45... no boat either.
Thanks tho. We have heart and a love for fishing just don't have a boat with the same dependability.

Way to hang in there for sure! I'd be willing to bet that some boaters would've loved to have taken home your catch. :-D

Well, it got my butt out of bed, that's for sure. Fishing without a boat I was proud of our actions and results in the tourney (even without placing/taking home a boat).

It was a great weekend and look forward to many many more.

Good times as always Zach; now lets please fix our boat, k?

I will say that having a 30" cobia on the reel in almost chest deep water was pretty exciting, and my first...

that and we lost many spoons on those dad'gum spanish...
