First trip on the Law Dawg

Post by WaltDawg »

I've had boat fever for a while, but I was waiting for the right buy to come my way. I've heard the best time to get a deal on a boat is the beginning of the summer. After many long hours of searching for the right boat, I narrowed down my choices and found a boat south of Tampa that seemed to fit my criteria. It was a Hydra Sport 19 fully loaded with low hours and the price was right, so me and Millertime made a 15 hour roundtrip south to pick'er up saturday. We tested her out in the Manatee river and everything ran great.

Millertime wanted to earn some slime for his troubles, so we launched at the Fort Sunday morning to see if she could get skinny.

Millertime got his wish with one of the fattest slot reds I've ever seen. 7+ pounds and a hair under 27 with a pinched tail. We measured it at least 10 times just to be sure. :smt007

After a quick trip Saturday, I ran to SGI to fish with my brother, nephew and Cygraphics monday morning. We launched on the bay side and mostly fished spotty bottom in 4-6 feet of water. Nothing big, but my nephew from Atlanta got his first keeper trout. Fortunately, we're not meat fisherman. :)

We caught a lot of fish and it was good to get out with family even though its hot as hell out there.

It was a long weekend, but well worth it. but it was a long time coming. :-D

Great purchase Capt. Waltdawg.... tell Millertime great looking slime. I gather he starts puking if he can't see land... that's a bummer. I know a great place to get graphics on the side of that boat.
When I'm fighting a keeper, the Afterburner is TURNED ON!!!!
