Coastal Restaurant or Forgotten Coast?
My Mother's been with us for a couple of weeks having cataract surgery and She'll be headed back to Central Florida probably on Sunday. We'r looking to find a place to eat on Saturday. I've never eaten at either place but would be interested in how the two compare and any reviews that you might have. Considering that we'll be travelling from Tallahassee which would be your preference? Thanks
1. Coastal Restaurant (Panacea)
2. Forgotten Coast (Crawfordville)

Same answer as Tom ya may want to consider The Sienyard {SP} also "only because of the shorter drive"

Coastal is a favorite of mine. Of course I love good fried seafood.
Hook Wreck Henry's is right around the corner if you want waterfront atmosphere.
Good smoked fish dip

Re: Coastal Restaurant or Forgotten Coast?
I would call it more of a waterfront bar. When I have been there it was around lunch and it didn't have a rowdy crowd. Don't know what it is like in the evenings. One thing is fun the boat ramp is right there. You can watch the boat ramp follies. I think the ramp might be under construction now though.

Hooks is great- Water view and good food.
they usually have a guy playing Jimmy Buffet type music on Friday and Saturday
But you can sit inside and eat - Great food- Broiled , Grilled, or blackend. No Fried.
Love the Seafood Nachos, Fish Dip, Twice baked potatoes, Grouper, po boys ... everything.
They have several nice dinner dishes too....
My dad is 70 and loves the place.
Coastal is great for a gut buster of fried everything... Nothing wrong with that!

Does the Spring Creek Restaurant have any water view (other than the glass on your table)

negatory the river is out back nice place they really have upscaled it.
Re: Coastal Restaurant or Forgotten Coast?
Angelos at Panacea has the best water view in the area and excellent food. Coastal is a good old style fried seafood restaurant. Spring Creek is also a good choice, but way off of the beaten path.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

Spring Creek restaurant is not "off" the beaten path. It is at the "end" of the beaten path.
