Turkey Point Trout- and Tarpon Sightings....7/16

Post by bman »

Had a good meat trout trip off Turkey point shoals today- nothing big but a good bite till noon.
No camera so you have to take my word for it!
Assorted others (cats, Ladys, a flounder) All on jigs with gulp.
6' to 8' of water.

There were TONS of tarpon all over the shoals... lots of boats anchored up waiting on them.
Had several big ones roll right at our boat but we didnt have any gear worthy of a battle.

How long will they hang around?

Well they sure must have been in the deeper water. There was nothing happening in any of the skinny water. I was out there for a bit that morning too while we were staying at St Teresa. Glad you made it work.
