We were of shore, and lightning and weather ran in around 1pm- had to go up the Econfina river. Super nice FWC guy, Kent Harvey, gave me a ride to the Lighthouse so I could get my truck and tailer. Heard it on his radio. All people safe they said.

I bet I know what boat it was, Bman! That guy who was anchored up on the East side of the tower - I bet his boat was about 21-23 feet and was a walk-around/cabin cruiser. He was anchored when we lost visual contact with him. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

BTW - the Grunt was delicious! LOL!!!

Yes, I have heard several stories of boats capsizing, and depending on who you talk to the number grows. We were out by Yamaha in a 19' Cape Horn, and I am just glad we made it back safe.

There was a BC flats boat out there, and my future brother in law and I kept discussing how there is no way we would have rode out that far in it, although it was a beautiful morning and flat. I hope they made it in ok.

I will keep suscribed to this post, as I would like more info as well.

PS: I have always wanted to see a water spout, just not 3 while I was 25 miles offshore.

The boat that capsized was named Bad Influence. All persons were safely recovered and the boat was recovered yesterday and brought into Carrabelle.
