Yesterday after church, and chores, I couldn't stand it so I decided to go to a little pond about 8 miles from the house. Got on the water about 3:00 with 4 dozen minnows. I totally forgot how hot it was, but the minnows didn't. Most were dead within an hour or so.
I had some jigs from last year's Eufaula trips so I tied one on and had a blast til about dark:15. I probably caught between 40 and 50 specks to about 3/4 of a pound. Not huge, but lots of fun.
I hope there is a pic included of the 14 I kept to clean and have for supper tonight.

The fish in the picture are White Perch...or speckled perch, or crappie, or paper mouths, or sockalay (don't know about that spelling, but it sounds like that when they say it in Louisiana), or specks.
