FROM THE ALABAMA/FLORIDA BORDER EASTWARD TO THE SUWANNEE RIVER
FLORIDA. A TROPICAL STORM WARNING MEANS THAT TROPICAL STORM
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE WARNING AREA WITHIN 24
HOURS.

MILES...245 KM...SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF APALACHICOLA FLORIDA.

THE DEPRESSION IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHWEST NEAR 16
MPH...AND THIS MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TODAY. ON THE
FORECAST TRACK...THE CENTER OF THE DEPRESSION SHOULD BE VERY NEAR
THE NORTHERN GULF COAST OF FLORIDA BY LATE THIS AFTERNOON.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 35 MPH...55 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER

I welcome it. Believe it or not, here at the house, we have not had any rain in 2 weeks. Everybody around us has had 1 2 , or 3 inches.

The storms always went just around us here.

Just curious, but would it not be a potentially good thing to have a few depressions/storms coming through right about now, and not just talking rain as much as sapping the energy/heat out of the waters a bit versus letting them feed a bigger hurricane? If so, almost feel lucky we're just predicted to get lower power storms at the moment.

Another question, anybody notice the national hurricane site has Bill getting "H" hurricane status pretty soon and then "M" status? They show "M" as winds above 110, but I don't recall seeing the "M" used before on their site? Am I wrong or did they just start using it?
