Left the house with the old man about 4:36am this morning. Launched at the ramp about 6:30am. Weather was great that early. Slick waters, no wind. Casted top water for a few minutes at the mouth of the river with no luck. Decided to change spots. Water was clear as i've seen in a long time. Had a few hits during the moring while the tide was still headed out. Mostly short trouts. However a good sign I thought. About 11:30 or so when the tide finally started making its way in we finally landed a keeper trout. Found some rock grass and the old man pulled in two nice red fish. one about 24" and the other about 22". Landed one more keeper trout after lunch some time. All were hitting top water. No idea how many we missed. Decided to pull out the long rods and give it shot. Had to battle the wind but heck when don't ya down there right?
Dad somehow hooked up with a Ballyhoo.
Later I landed a short trout..
Tough fishing, but caught enough for dinner.
I come from a small drinking community with a fishing problem
