Fired up STRIKE TWO both mornings at almost light and headed out not worrying about grass....stormy in distance but very little lightening and only got rained on
for a few minutes. Overcast, quite calm and no floating grass.....in the area I found. All the above adds up to one thing...TOPWATER TIME!!!!!!!
Skitterwalks and Chug Bugs were the ticket for nice limits of trout and a nice red for good measure. Back on the hill before 11:30 both days for
fish cleaning and a nice siesta. On the way in river Friday am I loaned a nice guy named Brian my measure which caused his "river red" to be released as he was
several inches on the slot...a really beautiful red for sure!

I got a nice Red on a Spook Jr. Saturday morning just after daylight behind Grey Mare Isl. Too bad he was 1/2 inch short to keep. I am hoping the top water strike is coming back very soon. There is nothing more exciting than big blowups on the surface.
