It might be in my head, but I feel any boat should have a little more performance at WOT, by trimming the motor up. This of course brings the hull out of the water reducing drag/plowing. At WOT, my boat does not porpoise until I start to trim the motor up. 2 or 3 bumps up (to get the hull out of the water) and then the porpoise effect takes place, never at WOT before trimming up. I might not need to trim (don't have a tach), and I might be at the peak performance of the boat, but another reason I would like to be able to get the hull out of the water is to keep the ride as dry as possible as well. Bow pointed up slightly diverts spray around the sides, instead of over the bow.
I'm taking her to Wavel tomorrow for some maintenance, and I'm going to have a water pressure gauge put on as well. Then I will know my limitations on jacking/trimming and can find the sweet spot.
Might need to look in to a higher cupped prop to reduce blow out, but was thinking the bigger cav plate would give more of an advantage by maintaining sufficient water around the foot,

You could probably show Wavel the pictures of the cavitation plate and he could make you one
