Got to Ecofina around 12:00 noon. It was beautiful today. A slight overcast kept the hot sun at bay until around 3 pm.
The water was very dark and bottom was not to be seen. I first slipped into a creek mouth that is a known fish haunt. No Love there. Mullet were active but just a couple of short strikes on a jighead and plastic. I couldn't even get some live bait on the smallest brim hooks. Mmmm, time to hit another spot.
Eased out about 1/2 mile, no love from da fishes.
Zoomed out to about 1.5 miles and I was in the bite now! If the trout limit was reduced to 14"+ I would have had my limit 3x's over in a hurry!!
I kept moving around a little and finally got a 19.5" keeper. Trying to bring home some supper I kept at it. I hooked another, but when I reached for the net, he shook off....DANG!
After a couple of hours of throwing back shorts I moved in to find a red, no love. I hit a couple of spots that have produced flounder, no love.
I love dem fishes, but today dey don' love me none!
It was great just being out there on a bootiful day.
