Hit the fort with my two girls and Dexter(the lab) at about 1:30 for a little fishing and a little goofing. Went up in the East River for about an hour, live shrimp, FB tipped chartruese and FB tipped motor oil and E. chicken - No Luck.

Headed to the flats about a mile due south of the lighthouse, water temp 63.7. Wind out of the E, ENE at about 10-12. Same lures/bait, plus used a cigar CT. One bite on the shrimp under a CT. Very slow. One stop at spoil island and back at the fort at 5:00PM.

Hardly anyone on the water. Met the man on the way back up the river. Nice guy. I must be getting older because these LE guys keep getting younger and younger. I appreciate them being out there.

Well Wevans??? Wind was out of the east = no luck. You da' man!

BTW- The lab had a great time on his first ever boat trip after the girls pulled out the boiled peanuts from Miss Cleo. Boiled Peanuts and cold iced tea, add sunshine, a couple of little girls and you can't ask for more.

Be back out there Thurs. Fri. and Saturday. Will report.

Fine report db. My favorite kind. Sorry the girls didn't get to catch a fish. Went with my daughter and grandson last friday with the same results. We still had a blast. Put them on a Pinfish bed and they had a great time.

East wind is great if you are in 2 to 3 feet of water between Rock Island and the St. Marks Lighthouse.
