Sausage and eggs

Post by Jumptrout51 »

Pulled into Showboats drive way about 5:45 this morning. Boo met me at the door. Katie opened it. Walked in and was told to grab a plate. Katie had prepared a rather large platter of eggs and sausage casserole and a big pot of hash brown potatoes. If we weren't going fishing I would have stayed until I ate it all. Really good food.
After breakfast Brian and I head off down towards Fenholloway for a day of catching.
We get launched at the lower ramp just about daylight and head down the river to the flats.
On the way out I suggest a spot to start in. Showboats second cast puts a nice fat 25 and a half red in the livewell.
We fish on for a little while with blowups but no hookups. We decide to move on down to the SeaSpot hole and pick up some fish. We did. Sharks, lizard fish, rock bass, catfish and a nice fat trout.
Not as much going on here as we would like. We decide to move a few miles the other way.
A few minutes into the drift we start getting hit. We drifted over 1 mile from our starting point and finished up with a double limit plus of good fat trout.
Back at the ramp by 4 p.m.
A fun day with Showboat, thanks Brian and thanks Katie.

Thanks Steve. I had a great time and look forward to doing it again soon.

I was proud of the way you pulled the boat out on low tide without dropping it or backing off the ramp. Nice work on the report too; I was way to tired to post yesterday.

I expect there will be some nice fish caught in this weekends tourney.
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.
