Full moon vs. Fishing...

Post by whitebc »

How does the moon affect the inshore fishing(trout and redfish)?
This weekend will be the full moon, how will the fish act?
What is the best time of the day/night to catch them?

Thanks in advance,
Ben

During the time of a full moon - always remember "early and late bites on bright nights." Fish early or late - during the day the fish sleep or slumber around waiting on the evening. If weather is moving through then it could be game on all day. Tide can help with a bite at mid day....over here with 12 hour tides...it's pretty much dead during the day near a full moon.

I went out friday afternoon fishing for the first time in mouths and the fish are hot the last 2 hours of day light. (Watch the shore lines for bait schools and then it is game on)More on one of the coolest fishing trips I have been on in years when I find out what is wrong with my labtop and don't have to use my phone to post.

I have fished according to the calendar times on the full moon. Sometimes I have seen the midday bite turn on, others I couldn't see it.

Go when you can! :D
