3000 Kipor Generator

Post by MudDucker »

This unit is about a year old. I bought a new Kipor 6000, because my daughter's horse trailer has an electric water heater and the 3000 can't run both the water heater and the A/C at the same time.

The only difference I've found between the Honda generators and the Kipor is the Honda is red and Kipor is yellow. I've run them side by side and there is negligible difference in noise levels. This is a very quiet generator. You can carry on a conversation while this generator is running. It is good on gas as well. This generator has both electric start and pull start (something I wish the 6000 had as well).

It has 2 regular a/c outlets and a big 30 amp a/c outlet for campers and motor homes. The plug is not a standard for motor homes and campers, but I will throw in a converter plug. It also comes with a full cover. There is around 40 hours of use on this generator.

$800

Dang, I know one of you guys has to like to camp in style. It would also be a great generator for flounder gigging. Run your lights and a portable A/C to blow cool air up your behind while you are leaned over making the stab!

This generator has found a new home. It will be powering a hunting camp trailer in N. Georgia this year.

MD the problem with used generators is you can go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get a bigger generator for less money. Notice I did not say better or as good just bigger. if this generator has a Honda engine it should be worth what you are asking, however I would be surprised if you get more than 600 for it. My .02 worth. Sold em for 15 years and I sold the good ones.

Good luck

The Kipor is a Chinese knock off of the Honda. From what I understand, it has a lot of interchangable parts. A guy who works on generators around here told me about them. They are about 40% less expensive than the comparable Honda and have almost identical specs.

You can get the loud old style wire wound generators for less money from Lowes, but not these quiet sine inverter generators. A sine inverter generator puts out clean power, which means it will not damage computers, steroes or TV's. The wire wound ones generally put out dirty power and have been the downfall of many an electronic devise. Surprisingly, I got my full asking price and the guy drove from Conyers to pick it up, so yea, I'm happy.
