Joe Legal vs. Jose Illegal
I don't know if all of this is really accurate, but it does still raise the antennae! Just doesn't seem fair to me!
Joe Legal vs. Jose Illegal
Here is an example of why hiring illegal aliens is not economically productive for the United States . Try to follow along:
You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families have two parents, two children and live in California .
Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted from that.
Jose Illegal also works in construction, has no Social Security Number and gets paid $15.00 per hour cash "under the table".
Ready? Now pay close attention ...
Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week or $52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has $31,231.00.
Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week or $31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes; Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00.
Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $24,031.00.
Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local
clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.
Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare.
Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food or $6,000.00 per year; Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.
Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps and
welfare; Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.
Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month or $14,400.00 per year; Joe Legal
now has $9,631.00.
Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays $500.00 per month or $6,000.00 per year; Jose Illegal still has $ 31,200.00.
Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month or $2,400.00 for insurance; Joe Legal now has $7,231.00.
Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance" and still
has $31,200.00.
Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc.
Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline and what he sends out of the country every month.
Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays and gets a parttime job after work.
Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.
Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school.
Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get a government- sponsored lunch.
Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home.
Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.
Do you get it, now?
If you vote for or support any politician that supports illegal aliens ... you are part of this problem!

Re: Joe Legal vs. Jose Illegal
I've gotten this e-mail before and I've got a few problems with it.
Have you ever met an illegal immigrant who makes $15.00 an hour? Also, here in Florida, they do have to pay the state sales tax, as our state has no income tax. Although illegal immigrants may recieve free health care at the ER or Health Department, they do not recieve any type of free dental care. Illegal immigrants are not elligible for welfare, although I'm sure there are cases where they have slipped past the system. What is this $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy? Maybe that's true, but I've never heard of an illegal immigrant being elligible for something like that.
The statement at the end "If you vote for or support any politician that supports illegal aliens ... you are part of this problem!", really irks me. Here in America we have 2 decisions come election time; right wing nut or left wing nut. I support politicians who support illegal aliens, as long as they do so by helping the illegal aliens become legal citizens, but sometimes the decision comes down to the whole "lesser of two evils" thing. It's not the voter's fault that illegal immigrants are abusing the system intended to benefit U.S. citizens.
Yeah, it sucks that American citizens are stuck paying taxes that are used to support illegal immigrants, but it's not as bad as whoever wrote this would have you believe. They seem to have made a lot of biased and un-supported statements. Believe what you like, feel what you must, but pay no mind to this propoganda.

See now I see this differently. You are reading this too literally. You can adjust the numbers however you like the fact is they are here illegally! They cannot be refused health care and they cost us billions of dollars a year.
I am merely passing this on and agree with the underlying premise on which it was written. As for making them legal sure make go home and enter the country through the proper channels like some many others have.

Re: Joe Legal vs. Jose Illegal
Hell yes I have. Skilled laborers in construction make that kind of money, espicially if they have a drivers license. It subsided since the downturn on the economy, but in areas where there is construcion going on, I guarantee you they make that kind of money.red_yakker wrote:I've gotten this e-mail before and I've got a few problems with it.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Illegal is the main problem. Come here legal, learn the language and glad to have ya here.
We educate their kids for free, and have to have teachers that speak THEIR language not ours.

Not during this past election.red_yakker wrote:Here in America we have 2 decisions come election time; right wing nut or left wing nut.
We had a left wing nut and a Democrat-lite. We ended up with the nut . . .
But I agree, it was the lesser of two evils.

Yeah, but the Democrat Lite was accompanied by a right wing nut, making him a right wing nut according to the transitive property.

C'mon, can't we at least agree on that?

Re: Joe Legal vs. Jose Illegal
JT, number 1 and 2 were bound to happen with the rate of population growth and diversity of religion in our country. Now I am hardly a liberal, but it is what it is. Number 3 hits closer to home for me.
And I am not quite sure where I stand on this as it seems that you can never find where the info is coming from. Ultimately, I am obviously all for the preservation of our fish. If we need to make cut backs on limits then so be it. I don't think anybody would have a problem with that if it were nesessary, but not if the stocks are thriving. Are they thriving is the question? I know the redfish are.
Wish I could get my hands on the data being used.
