Hobie Rodholders?

Post by litl666 »

I would like to fit rod holders to my Hobie Outback - but want to use the existing front vertical holders to position them. Ram do a mounting bracket that fits the front holders - which is an idea I like - but I have Scotty holders already. Anyone know if there is a similar fitting from Scotty or will I have to change to Rams?? I cant find anything in the UK. Any sugestions appreciated.

Try a Scotty Gimbal Mount No. 253. It allows you to use the existing flush mount rod holders in your kayak. You can find them here http://www.captdick.net/rod_holders_and_mounts.htm

Thanks talltails - do you know what diameter the bottom section is on the gimball mount? the hobie rod holders are 1.5" and a slightly shorter than a standard flush mount - could be worth adapting though if I can find some. :)
