wheres a good place to fish for pompano?

wanting to catch some but, dont have a boat. we go to sgi alot and havent had any luck. is there a hunny hole somewhere they might be stashed? better place off the beach? who has had luck? went to st.joe last year and caught our first off the beach, but had a lot of sand fleas,couldnt find any at st. george. helpppppppp?// :D :D :thumbup:

Never caught one myself.....Sounds like your in the right places, there is a good article in the Florida Sportsman on fishing for them, think it is the March issue, the one with a Permit on the cover.....

read that one we get it every month, no big help though. went to alligator point today and had a lot of good bites. caught 3 whiting, 2 sand trout, 1 speckled,and 1blue,. then we went to the hunny hole and caught a mess of mullet. going to smoke mullet and blacken the rest tommorrow, yummmmmm. hope all had a great fishing day too,it :-) :) :-D was beautiful today
