Lighterknot wrote:not gonna argue about shot placement,as I know you can't shoot much of anything in the foot with any kind of gun and drop it in their tracks. the bear being described was a florida bear not a Grizzly or big browny.. and the man behind the trigger was one of the best shots I have ever had the opportunity of hunting with. once saw him take an empty soda can at about 30 yds and first shot put can in the air at about 4 or 5 ft. high the can never touched the ground for the entire 5 shots with a open sight 30.06. same gun that knocked the bear out of this tall "Apalachicola national forest" pine tree. those 5 shots with the 270 were all into the vitals. surely the bear would not of survived and at some point in time fell dead out of the tree..
Since when can you "legally" kill bears in Florida? You got me good if that was a joke...

not a joke
There used to be a bear season in Fla. until several years ago. I guess the tree huggers done some kind of survey and said there were not enough bears in fla to justify a season, so they closed it down..
with stipulations that will probably never be re-instated to allow the taking of bear in fla. ever again.

Opinions are like A** holes...... everybody has one!!!

Back to the original question. I do have a .243 for sale. 2 years old Rossi single shot. Comes with unfired 20 gauge and .22 barrels. My son has out grown it. The .243 barrel has a Simmons 3x9x40 scope that has never been in the woods. I will take $250 for the whole deal.
