Had a dove shoot planned with my buddy Brian until I rechecked the regulations and realized its out till the 14th
So to save the day I loaded the boat and we headed to Panacea.
Trout are tearing it up... Fished the long bar off Piney - caught fish on the breaks.
Got most on a tourist rig- although Brian lost a nice one on a strait jig.

I liked it so much, I bought the company

I just hope my first-mate and trailer backing skills were sufficient to get invited back...did you like how I let that hoss 24 incher get off right at the boat so I was sure you beat me on the day?
2 rules...
Never beat the boss at golf and never catch more fish than your host.

Team Jealous of Everybody Else's Fishing Time.
PA- they were on the edge of a bar in about 3 feet but the bar we were catching them on is near drop offs between 5-10 feet
Also caught them on a falling tide. Put in about 4 and had our limit plus at 6
Walt, You can call it wishful thinking but I'm calling it Winter!
Bagataway- You did just fine! plenty of room to harass you about your trailer skills but you put it in the water.
I was dreaming about fish last night- may need to go again today

Heck of a lot better than our day out at St Marks!
Great job!
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark
Nice work Barry. I launched about the same time yesterday out of Aucilla; had to do some yard work and replace a battery in the boat first. Much the same result during the same tide. Seems like the trout bite is on fire.
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.
