First Post: Some Of You Fellas Are A Bad Influence!!
Hello Everyone:
After trolling this site the past few years, I finally joined up a month or so ago. However, work being what it is and procrastination being a trait, I haven't put up a post yet. I thought I would start off in a hole right off the bat: A little too long of a post and no pictures.............
First of all, thanks for all of the fishing reports, laughs, pics, etc. ya'll guys are great. I'm native to the area, but moved away for about 9 years and just returned home last fall. Fortunately, a buddy of mine over at the BBSWC told me about your site a couple of years ago and that was how I was able to keep up with the fishing "happenings" in the Big Bend while I was gone.
Quick Bio: Like I said, native to the area, I suspect that I have met some of you guys. I have a great wife, two girls (one who loves to fish and one who loves to fish when the fish are tearing it up), a dog (purebred: beagle/dachsund/heinz 57) that I just adopted from the pound, I live down in Wakulla, Nole fan but I am not a hater on the other Florida and regional teams, and I fish a Sea Pro (just bought it used from the bank this summer). Thanks Fillet & Release for the good price on the boat cover a couple of months ago. I'm sure it will look great when I clean it up and put it on.
Now down to business: Today while packing up to head out of town for a meeting, I hopped on line and read Bman's fishing report about Piney. Now I'm not saying that Bman is really a bad influence, but when you talk about the bite being hot and you provide pictures of a fine mess of fish, another fisherman's judgment may get a little tested. Throw in other contributing factors (I really didn't want to go to the meeting, my boat hadn't been fished in over a month, and the weather looked great) and the next thing you know I am heading down 98 and stopping by AMS to pick up some tackle. I hit the water around 2 and basically had the area to myself. I met one gentleman at the boat ramp that advised that he had caught quite a few shorties. I fished east of Piney and stayed in approximately 2 - 3 feet of water. I caught 16 trout, 1 red, 1 lizzard fish, 1 sailcat, and 1 croaker. All of the fish were released. I had quite a few misses as well. I mainly fished a CJ with a New Penny Gulp, however, I did land some trout with a top dog. No luck on Yozuri's or redfish magic (most likely operator error). About 30 minutes after the tide changed, the bite totally stopped. The winds were light and decreased to almost no wind around 5 p.m.. Water temp showed as being 67 on my machine. I don't know how accurate it is as the machine was bought used as well and came with the boat.
The highlight of the day was when a nice trout exploded on my top dog. The lowlight of the day was when I was working that trout to the back of the boat to get my net and I stepped in a landmine my new best friend left me. I guess my future fishing partner options are: Take my wife and kids and if the fish aren't biting I get to catch some #@$% or I can take the dog and have to worry about stepping in some @#$%
Alright fellas, once again, thanks for the stories, posts, etc.the past couple of years. I look forward to chatting with you in the future.
Chris

Hey bman, sometimes you've got to be pushed over the edge. Your report (and my wife encouraging me to go while I had a chance) did the trick. Thanks for the good report and the nice pics. I hope to post some here in the near future. If the weather holds out, maybe I'll have some to post tomorrow evening.

Just don't listen to Jumptrout 51 or Bad Behavior and you will be alright. BTW, I would not be surprised if either of them didn't actually put that in your boat for fishing in of their private holes.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

Thanks MD, I'll keep that in mind. I've read the reports about JT's private fishing holes. Best I can tell, if I entered all of his fishing holes on my chartplotter, the image would look like a mound of swiss cheese.

Scoop Sea,
I think a more accurate description of it would be, if you entered all of JT's holes in your gps it would look like a map of the Forgotten Coast out to 30 nautical miles.

Good report Poop Scoop Sea!
When you provide as much detail as you did in that report, we can forgive the absence of pictures. The folks who provide the pictures only do it because we don't believe em if they don't. Welcome aboard and we look forward to your next failure to ignore all the bad influences
