NFGFC November Tournament Results - Jerry's Bait and Tackle

We had a great turnout for our November tournament - 19 boats showed up at Jerry’s Bait and Tackle ready to fish the last NFGFC tournament of the year. There were several great stringers weighed by NFGFC members and the winning weights were all within a Hardees’ thick burger of each other.

When the dust settled, the team of Casey Cook and Pat Irwin wound up on top with a five fish stringer weighing 12.66 lbs. The duo won $190 for their efforts and Irwin also won the Custom Detailing 2nd place Big Trout for an additional $25.

2nd place was awarded to Gary Droze, the wade fishing king. His five fish totaled 12.46 lbs and won him $119 for his efforts. Congrats to Gary!

3rd place was won for the second month in a row by the team of Ashley Mock and Junior Dice. The Perry boys weighed in five trout tipping the scales to 12.33 lbs which won them $80.

Rick Bushatz won the big trout pot for the month with a giant 26”, 5.45 lb stud. Rick’s BFT (big fine trout) won him $140. Bushatz continued his Kevin’s Big Flounder Dominance as well and won a $50 gift card to Kevin’s with his 1.29 lb flattie. Congrats to Rick and Brad!

The big redfish was caught by Huey Collins. Huey’s red was a shade under 27” and weighed 7.01 lbs winning him $270. Congrats to Huey and Tommy T. for their hoss daddy red!

The Badcock and More Mystery (sailcat) rolled as nobody weighed a legal sailcat. The mystery fish money will roll over to next February.

In the AOY race, Junior Dice and Ashley Mock locked up their Angler (s) / Team of the Year victory. Casey Cook and Pat Irwin finished second with Huey Collins and Tommy Thompson taking the bronze.

Congrats to Kathy Knauss for winning the Lady Angler of the Year award. Kathy pulled away from the competition in the last couple months and won by a handful of points over Christy Jacobs.

And finally, congrats to Andrew Stinson for winning the Junior Angler of the Year award. Andrew had a great year and was able to pull out the victory over Hunter Green, Clayton Brunson and Jackson Keels. Andrew also caught the biggest flounder for the year and won the Kevin’s Big Flounder Prize, a $500 G Loomis and Shimano rod and reel package courtesy of Kevin’s Guns and Sporting Goods.

Congrats to Eric Keyser for winning the Matthew’s Fishin Stix Big Redfish of the Year award. Keyser’s 7.65 lb red won him a brand new, custom rod courtesy of Matthew’s Fishin Stix. Congrats to Eric and a big thank you to Matthew and Christy Jacobs.

And finally, congrats to Ashley Mock for winning the Matthew’s Fishin Stix Big Trout of the Year award. Ashley caught a 6.11 lb s-t-u-d in April and the fish was able to hold on and win big trout of the year. Ashley wins a custom Matthew’s Fishin Stix, courtesy of Matthew and Christy Jacobs.

This year has been a great one for NFGFC. We’ve had more participation in club meetings and in our tournaments than we’ve ever had. We hope that all of you come back next year to fish with us, and better yet, tell your friends about the club and get them out on the water with us as well. Our Christmas party will be December 5th at Shucker’s Oyster Bar and we’ll hand out all of the awards and raffle off some amazing prizes as well. I hope to see all of you there.
I appreciate all of the help I’ve gotten at the club weigh-ins this year…I would be remiss if I did not say a big thank you to Pat Irwin for his help as weighmaster this year. Pat did a heck of a job and was a big reason that our tournament weigh-ins went so smoothly.
