In honor of your service in WWII and for the others that were with you, just thought I would share one of my favorite songs... Peggy Lee's "Where or When"... as close of a song as I can think of to capture the longing to be with a loved one during war time. Why in the world more of today's stars don't try to appeal to our servicemen in the same way is beyond me.
A gal sings a song like this one to lonely servicemen and she's almost guaranteed to have a following the rest of her days.
"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank GOD for the United States Marine Corps." Eleanor Roosevelt, 1945
YEA BBG, THEY DON'T WRITE SONGS ANYMORE, ALL YA GET TODAY IS A BUNCH OF TRASH, GARBAGE, OR STUPID RAP CRAP. WE HAVE MANAGED TO SAVE SOME OF THE GOOD OLD GOODIES FROM THE LATE 30'S THROUGH THE LATE 50'S, THAT IS WHEN THE TRASH STARTED COMING OUT. WE HAVE A LARGE GREAT ROOM AND EVERY NOW AND THEN WE MOVE THE FURNITURE TO THE SIDE , PUT ON 5-6 OF THE GOLDIE-OLDIES AND JUST DANCE FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS, BRINGS BACK MANY MEMORIES.
