Mullet is a pretty good mod, considering the rough bunch he has to keep in line. :-D

It is sad to see. I don't know if it will be "gone" but it sure has changed. There have been a few threads there lately that just seem to defy logic in both posts and moderation. I still read, but don't post there anymore. I don't know if the members have changed that much in their posts, if moderation has changed or if it's the new format, but it sure has taken a turn for the worst as far as my enjoyment out of it goes and it seems I am one of many. There just seems to be so much more BS being thrown back and forth on a daily basis now (more now than before) and I just choose not to contribute to it (FS or NW to be specific) anymore. I get more out of the "boating" and "electronics" section than anything else now. Post anything negative or a hint that you are thinking about leaving the forum and you get responses like "leave then". Nothing to even try to keep good people, instead they are "shown the door". Seems odd that the people that "play nice" over there are posting and moving over here more and more, yet I don't see some of the crazy personal attacks here. Hmmm.... Makes you think!

Mullet posted "I have visited several and most have even far less volume than we have now." Give it more time and just watch that change. Keep calling members "a-holes" as a mod and letting people threaten others, it WILL see less volume. Also, and more importantly, it's not always about "volume"... The quality of a short post or thread will ALWAYS trump volume.

I still have friends that post a LOT on there daily, but those that are good friends know how to contact me in ways other than FS.

I'm not posting much on here, but I'm busy building my new boat, so my time is limited for "internet fun" now!!! (where's that nilly smiley that I need)????

Duke, I don't know...'Seems most ever'body over there likes you pretty good. Some hate to see you go. You can't blame the members for all that's wrong with that BB program.
As to the long and colorful threads.. 'Just minds clashing. 'Happens on every forum. Mostly trivial at best. If you don't like them after checking them out move on to the next one. That's how I am about the football rivalries threads. I seldom click on a sports threads, unless there's something unusual in the heading. Sports just ain't my bag..
I think quite a few FS folks read over here. I'm sure they are welcome to post if they are a mind to. So, post on both, needless to say. It's all about the people you want to communicate with. There's good and not so good, wherever you go.

I think Mullet is doing the best he can under the strain of the new bb program. Wevans pegged him right with the 'rough around the edges' description. Nothing wrong with that..Hell, there ain't any of us 'eat up' with a lot suave and debonair. :smt116 :smt116

I could mention the time the majority of the members in the NW section wanted to have their bash at a certain location and Mullet wanted it somewhere else... so it was put to a vote ... Mullet asked me and the Panhandle section members to sway the vote in his favor.... we did and I still regret doing that. Rough around the edges,,,Ha

It's not a huge deal... Heck - It's the internet, but...

My decision to not post on FS anymore had nothing to do with people liking me or disliking me. I'd like to think I'm a bit older than that. Like I said, I value the friendships that I have made through FS and those will continue.

Instead, maybe it's just that I've gotten to know some people too well and wish not to contribute to their antics. In addition, I'm not a fan of what Mullet calls the "brass". Juan, what you just typed doesn't surprise me a bit (about voting on the bash location).

My only real point is that it is a shame that FS, and specifically the NW section has lost some really good folks, that the forum has taken a turn "down-hill" and what a shame that is.

Anyway, I've got more important things to worry about... Can I post links to a boat restoration forum topic? I'm gutting and rebuilding the boat I bought last year. It's going to be a huge project, but a labor of love and next Spring, I'll be in what is for all intensive purposes, a NEW boat! She gonna be purdy!!!
