Grouper Trolling and surfing with the Pathfinder

Post by Joe »

I tried to give the Redfish a break this weekend! Had my first two good days of trolling since moving here just under two years ago! Went out of Mashes Sands dragging a Red White Stretch 25 and a Gold Stretch 30. Hooked a nice bull red on a stretch 25...He was lucky enough to trade pain with me. Nothing like the front hook of a stretch stuck in your hand while your dog wont go fetch the pliers. We both made it and the bull swam off un-fazed as soon as he got into the water.
Sunday I trolled for 3 hours with nothing, staring at the finder I see a Volkswagon sized rock on the screen. I went to mark it on my GPS, just then my drag starts to sing. Three passes over the rock yielded three grouper back to back. Me and the boy had to head for the hill and left them bitting. I think I found Wevens Meat Locker!

Cheers! :-D

You need to give us those numbers so we can verify there actually is a rock there!

Cold just be a glitch in the GPS.... :-D

I am beyond ready to get out there and drag some stretches across the sand (and rocks)

Nice catch, Joe. But you need to be aware that Wevans has a .50 cal sniper rifle mounted on the front of that G3.
What was I supposed to do today?

Nice cath! Work with that dog a little though. He should be bringing your beers to you in between getting the net, the gaff and the pliers....
