The officer this morning on WCTV said that it was no longer a search and rescue, but a search and recovery :smt011

I read in the paper that the workers at the damn saw him and tried to throw a line to him but he could not reach it. They said that he went into the damn after that.

So sad to hear. I have fished there for years and the current at the top of the dam can be extremely strong, especially with all the rain that we have had. Prayers sent to the family.

I have heard that they have called off the search for 7 days ..I assume to let all of the water come down ...I don't know how true that statement is but it would make sense being all of the rain we have had.

This is truly sad. I really feel for the family of this guy. I just don't understand one thing....why on earth would you be in a float blind that close to the damn when the river is flooded?? One thing, very few ducks fly near the damn and second the river is breaching the banks. With the river being so high, the damn is staying open to let the water out. Bad mistake that unfortunately cost him his life. My prayers go out to the family.

They still have not found John's body. Please keep his wife and 18 month old daughter in your prayers. They are a good family and John was one heck of a nice guy. We all think things like this happen to "other people" until it happens to someone you know.
