1995 120 Johnson

Post by What a mess »

Ran like crap cleaned the carbs did good for 4 months, running rough again replaced the fuel line as it was leaking new one was a little long and kinked boat ran bad wouldn't get to full power straightened it out and does better still wont run as fast as it used toby 10 mph also put on fuel water seperator. When it 1st messed up it would go act like it was gonna quit then go again. Any ideas?

I would double check the fuel path and then run some sea foam through it. Definitely sounds like a fuel delivery or carb problem. Maybe a new set of plugs?

Absolutely sounds like a fuel prob. Double check the filters and clean or replace if needed. Keep in mind it does not take but a very small piece of trash to gum up the works. Check the line. Make sure you have a straight path from tank to engine. Check the tank. If there is junk in it that can cause a problem too. You might also try some Yamaha Ring Free. GOOD STUFF follow the directions though and don't use too much.
Hope you are successful,
