Daiwa Samurai Braided Line?
Has anybody out there actually used Diawa Sanurai Braid? Sure is expensive.

I really think Power Pro is hard to beat. I have been fishing for a few years and have not wanted to try anything else. I am curious about Daiwa's attempt though.

I was going to say basically the same thing, but I'm curious if anyone has tried it.

Many years ago there was braided line.
Then monofilament line was invented.
That oughta' tell you something.

I disagree JT. I can cast much further and feel a lot more comfortable with a big fish when I have braid on, but I guess you don't have to worry about catching overslot fish.Jumptrout51 wrote:Many years ago there was braided line.

Re: Daiwa Samurai Braided Line?
I tournament fish.
You can not weigh over-slot fish in my tournaments.
The dozen fish I have lost in the past 25 years on broken line was my fault, knowing I had a burr on my line.
The other dozen I have lost in 25 years could not have been stopped with a tug boat tow rope.
Casting distance? I can cast further than I care to retrieve with mono.
MONO RULES!!!
On the other hand. If I were bass fishing in hiacinths or other heavy cover a drop shoting. I MIGHT use it.

I didn't know Daiwa had a braided line. I'm curious to see some reviews.
Re: Daiwa Samurai Braided Line?
Surely somebody has used Daiwa Samurai braided line.

I think South Georgia Outdoors might have a spool laying around.
Go get you some Sufix Performance Braid and be done with it.
Just remember not to overload the rod or the reel.

Reel, I tried 10lb Suffix Braid and had problems with the line breaking. I could put the line between my hands and break it time after time. Maybe I got a crappy spool.Reel Cowboy wrote:I think South Georgia Outdoors might have a spool laying around.

Re: Daiwa Samurai Braided Line?
You might have but I've had 4 reels spooled up for 3 years with no problems.

Re: Daiwa Samurai Braided Line?
Yeah, I like the Sufix Performance Braid best, so far. Switched from PowerPro a few years ago and never went back. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot to like about PP and Sufix.
I just wondered if anyone has used the more expensive Daiwa Samurai and would offer an informed opinion comparing it to PP and/or Sufix.
Guess I'm gonna have to be the guenna pig. I would buy it from a sponsor if they would order it.

That Suffix braid was a wind knot disaster for me. I took it off two of my reels and went back to powerpro. Maybe it was just me but I didn't like the way it felt.
