Keaton 2 Jan 2010

Post by chugbug »

Hit Keaton at 1100 and was greeted by a dry ramp. Barely got the boat in the water and drug bottom all the way to the fishing pier. Headed down to the warrior. Oyster bars were 3 feet out of the water and the water was pure mud. Didn't find clear water until about 1- 1 1/2 miles south. Caught 4 red's bigges 28 inches smallest 18 or so. We invited the middle two home for dinner. Did catch one lost barely keeper trout. He kept the red's company on the ride home. It was cold and windy just like the weather man said it would be. :smt012 Today was all soft plastics.

If you were at Spring Warrior on Saturday you probably saw my boat sitting high and dry on an oyster bar just south of the creek mouth. High NW winds on New Years day blew the water right out from under me. SeaTow was able to get it off Sunday Night after it sat there for 2 1/2 days. Not my most enjoyable fishing trip.

We didn't go up to the creek. That would have sucked for sure. I've never seen the oyster bars that far out of the water.
