Noting that today was about the best day I could try to make a run to do some trolling, I decided to take the day off and go. I literally had to knock the ice off the boat when I headed out, but the conditions were great. I tried every rock, nook, and cranny I knew of between the Lighthouse and the St. Marks Reefs. Unfortunately, I didn't get a single pull on the rod. I did manage to have a bonified Arse cut my trolling path not just once, but twice, ON TWO DIFFERENT SPOTS (miles from each other), i.e. after having Mr. Arse cut my path on one area, I gave up the spot and headed towards the hill and tried another spot. I wasn't there trolling 30 minutes when Mr. Arse came and cut my path again.......
I did have the pleasure of getting a boating inspection from FWC Officer Mallow. Mr. Mallow was very pleasant to deal with and represented his agency well.
Fishing particulars: Clear water, calm seas, with some build up in the afternoon. The water temps ranged between 45 - 47 (surface). I tried just about every stretch color in the box.
Sorry fishing day, but still a nice day to make it out on the water.
