I’ve been having a little fun over the last couple of weeks in NE Florida but it’s been a tad chilly. This past week brisk winds and freezing temps iced the marshes over good. Wednesday’s hunt I was paddling through ¾ inch ice to retrieve ducks! That’s COLD for Florida (I regret not bringing the camera). Paddling through that ice felt like being on an Ice Breaker. To make any forward progress you had to break the ice with the paddle for each stroke. I was even concerned that breaking through the ice might pierce the fiberglass on the
Blind Date.
Yesterday’s hunt wasn’t as cold but there was still ice.

It’s chilly out there! Mottled & Green Wing Teal
The birds are variable out there. The latest extended cold spell brought some new birds in, which was appreciated as things were starting to slow down.
