Any hunting season with my dad is a cherished memory, but this would be my first hunt with FIL who is an accomplished archer and long time hunter. Add in black-powder rifles and the snow, we had the recipie for a dandy in the making. Saturday morning we harvested a Buckeye state bruiser along with a nice doe. Having all the meat we wanted, and temptures dropping to chilling -2 Saturday night, the weekend turned into cocktails and butchering.
A nice 10 point (only 3 of which weren't busted), on a heavy bodied deer. I would conservatively put him a 180#s live weight:

This ol' boy won't make it on the wall with "Buckley," but he created some memories that will be shared over euchre games and holiday tables with my family for a long time to come (lacking mention all the dinner tables he'll grace).
Thanks for the great weekend fella's.
